We Believe

We Believe that there is one God; Creator of all things seen and unseen, and in Him they have their being. He exists in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; He is Sovereign, Holy, and Just, showing mercy to those who call upon His name, and delivering wrath upon those who reject Him.

We Believe in Jesus Christ, the Son, was with the Father in eternity past before the foundation of the world, and is God. His incarnation was through the virgin birth. He led a sinless life, and went willingly to the cross to pay the debt of sin that man could not pay; and His death covers past, present and future sin so that we could be reconciled to the Father. He was buried and rose again the third day, by many convincing proofs; He ascended to the right hand of the Father to make intercession for us. His return is imminent to take His bride, the church, to be with Him. He is coming at the end of the Tribulation as King of kings and Lord of lords to set up His millennial reign.

We Believe in the Holy Spirit the third person of the Godhead, who is given to dwell in those who believe by faith; given as a seal until the day of redemption, empowering every believer to live unto God; and gifting them to bring glory to God and to build up the body of Christ, the church. He convicts the world of sin and calls them unto repentance. He is the One who sanctifies the believer.

We Believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts and without contradiction. In it God has revealed Himself. It is absolute truth, and our only authority for faith and practice. It is essential to the daily walk of the believer to know their Lord better and to live holy unto Him.

We Believe that man was created in the image of God, by God, after the worlds were made, for fellowship with Him, and to take care of His creation. Adam, the first man, relinquished fellowship with God when he disobeyed God’s command, listening to the creation rather than the Creator. This disobedience, or sin, separated all men from the Giver of Life, and he was condemned to death, eternally separated from God and destined for the Lake of Fire.

We Believe that man is saved from eternal separation caused by sin, through repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ; and that through this faith the lost fellowship with God is restored and eternal life is received. This salvation is a free gift from God and not based on works. Once man believes, he should desire to walk in the good works that God has ordained as evidence of his salvation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is the example of obedience for the believer, by doing the will of the Father.

We Believe that the church is made up of all those who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; those called out of darkness into His marvelous light. The head of the Church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church is a gathering of believers for instruction in the Word of God, for corporate worship of God, for mutual encouragement and fellowship, and then to go as a witness to their neighbor, community and the world of the power of God and salvation.

We Believe that there is a devil who was created as an angel that stood in the presence of God, until he sinned, when he thought in his heart to ascend higher in position than God, the Creator, and was removed from His presence. Sin originated with the devil and he is a liar and deceiver from the beginning, and he is at work in the world today. His judgment is sure, and he and his angels will be cast in to the Lake of Fire at the final judgment.

We believe in heaven and hell. Heaven, where God dwells with His angels, and the believers, whose names are found in the Lamb’s book of life, will join Him when they are absent from this mortal body. Hell and the Lake of Fire where the devil, his angels and the unsaved will spend eternity separated from God, in torment. There is coming a new heaven and new earth after the final judgment, and there will be no more death. Believers will be in the presence of God forever. Amen.
